Governor:  Jackie Bates, DTM                                               Year:  2005-2006

Theme:  Sailing to Success

Most Positive Accomplishment:

I survived leading 12 District Executive Meeting with Rick Sydor, DTM/PID as my Parliamentarian.

Tracy Fletcher Bowman made & designed Banner Stands to display all club banners at the District Conferences.

We sailed together as a team, we keep at it day in and day out because we knew we were successful today and we would be a success tomorrow.

Those Persons Who Helped Highlight My Year:

There were a lot of people who volunteered to help and support me and I will always remember what they did for me.  My number one assistant was my husband Dan Bates who took my messages & set my appointments.  My team, Sheri Pulis, DTM (Lt. Gov. Ed & Training), Gary Pettigrew ATM (Lt. Gov. Marketing), Debra Ledsinger, ATM (Public Relations Officer) & District Council. The Past District Governors Committee was led by Audrey Samora.  I really enjoyed the meetings I had with several of the PDG they were always encouraging to me but let me know to just have fun.  That is what I did. Beth Mora took the lead to get the Trans-Sierran back in circulation for the district.

My Favorite Memory:

The Fall Conference in which we had the Captain’s Night and everyone got to take pictures with Dan Bates who was dressed up like a Captain.  Amy Cornellier brought a group of her Hawaiian Dance Troupe to perform and then the Hawaiian drag – Mark Carlos & Michael Green gave a fabulous dance that I will never forget.  They were dressed in Hawaiian attire (skirt & 2 coconuts).

The Spring Conference was held in Reno,NV and we danced the night away western style & we had a lot of prizes to give away for recognition.
