The second round of club officer training for those serving 2011-12 starts December and ends in February.  Each officer must attend and participate in ONE training session by FEBRUARY 29.  Officers, come learn how to be an effective club officer and member of your club’s leadership team!

To meet a partial Distinguished Club Program goal, at least FOUR officers must be trained.  Special recognition is given to those clubs having ALL SEVEN officers trained.

Direct your questions and comments to Dianne Bish, LGET (Email: click here) or to either of the two district coordinators:

Tips for TLI

  • TLI offers officer training AND other training AND enrichment sessions.
  • Reading or skimming one’s club officer manual (available from the past year’s club president) in advance of the session will make the training more meaningful for each attendee – and bring your manual with you to the training session.
  • You receive DCP credit only for the club office(s) you actually hold.
  • To ensure you receive credit, sign in for each class and include your club number. If you hold the same position in multiple clubs, be sure to list all clubs.
  • Be an active listener.
  • Share your experiences as appropriate and when asked to do so.  We learn so much from one another, especially those who have filled the officer positions before!
  • Fill in the evaluation form after each session to help your district leaders improve the training for you by reviewing content, presenters, and other variables.
  • Have fun!  And know that your fellow Toastmasters members in all parts of the district appreciate the time you took to become a trained club officer!

TLI Sergeant-At-Arms
Consider being a TLI Sergeant-At-Arms for a session – even the club officer training session you are attending!   TLI Sergeant-At-Arms:

  • Arrange the training room, if necessary;
  • Help members remember to sign for each session;
  • Introduce the trainers;
  • Provide timing triggers so that the session stays within its time period;
  • Lead the class in showing appreciation to a trainer;
  • Count the number of attendees and place that number on the sign-in sheets; and
  • Collect the class members’ evaluations.
